Tennessee’s Best Bagger Championship

The first Tennessee Best Bagger contest was held in 1990. Each year retailers from across the state come together at Tennessee’s Best Bagger Championship bringing their company’s finest bagger to compete for the state champion title. Tennessee’s champion moves on to represent our state at the National Championship.

The proper bagging of grocers is an important part of the operation of a successful retail grocery business. Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association in cooperation with The National Grocers Association (NGA) and retailers endeavors to help grocers recognize this valuable customer service by conducting an annual state Best Bagger Championship. Tennessee’s Best Bagger rules and regulations are modeled after The National Grocers Association’s Best Bagger rules and regulations.

State Prizes
  • Best Bagger Champion One $2,000 scholarship through TGEF plus $250 cash from NGA
  • Best Bagger Runner-Up One $1,000 scholarship through TGEF
