Retail Management Certificate Program

The Retail Management Certificate Program is a community college business program where students earn valuable college credit that can be applied to higher degrees. Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation is dedicated to expanding proficiency in the competencies required for effective management in the retail sector. Students taking courses in pursuit of a Retail Management Certificate are eligible to receive up to $200 per term, of reimbursement for their tuition expenses. Each student may receive $600 annually.

Tuition reimbursement is on a "first come, first serve" basis. It is possible that funds for this program may be depleted by the time this application is processed. All applications will be evaluated by the Approval Committee in the order in which they are received. Approval is granted without regard to race, religion, age, gender, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, or other protected status. The TGEF Board of Trustees and the Approval Committee have the sole discretion to deny any application and reserve the right to limit the amount of funding to any one company or individual based on aggregate usage or available funds.

Eligibility:

  • Employees of current Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association member companies. (Your employer must be a current member of TGCSA.)
  • Employees must work a minimum of 16 hours per week and be continuously employed with the qualifying company for six months.
Reimbursement Request required documentation:
  • Completed online application
  • Copy of Tuition reciept(s)
  • College transcript
  • Supervisor Verification
Reimbursement Request Requirements:

Course must be completed with a grade of C or higher.

Course must have been paid with personal funds or student loans.

Reimbursement requests must be received by TGEF within two months from the end date of the course. No exceptions are allowed.

Incomplete requests result in the disapproval of the application.
